SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the warehouse to include shipping and receiving, inventory management, staff supervision, customer interaction, and performance monitoring.
REPORTING TO: Warehouse and Planning Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that employees comply with applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, policies, and procedures. Drives safety culture through proactive countermeasures such as Safety Training, Find-it Fix-it, and other safety programs.
- Train and manage warehouse employees.
- Ensure effective training for warehouse employees, with relevant Standard Work/Work Instructions. Maintain accurate training content and record/matrix.
- Recruit, motivate, develop, and retain high-performing Warehouse employees.
- Oversee the daily workflow and assignments of the warehouse. Manage employee Time & Attendance; and overtime planning/approval. Drive employee and team engagement.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations e.g., regular performance feedback, mid-year and year-end performance review. Manage performance gaps through effective Performance Improvement Plans, and when necessary, via discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets, or equipment and order testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
- Plan, organize, or manage the work of warehouse employees to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
- Enforce standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
- Monitor inventory levels of products and materials in warehouses.
- Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
- Ensure staffing and supplies are within departmental budgets.
- Monitor product export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
- Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) culture to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement through appropriate CI tools.
- Advise sales and billing departments of transportation charges for customer accounts.
- Confer with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as production, sales, records control, or purchasing.
- Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting, packaging, or routing guides.
- Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, training and safety records.
- Examine shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations.
- Plan or implement energy saving changes to transportation services, such as reducing routes, optimizing capacities, employing alternate modes of transportation, or minimizing idling.
- Direct inbound or outbound operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, and logistics quality management.
- Review work orders, consumption reports, or demand forecasts to estimate peak performance periods and to issue work assignments.
