Your Role:
The Manufacturing Supervisor at the Bellefonte, PA site is responsible for managing the daily operations of assigned manufacturing areas, while maintaining a high standard for product quality and employee safety. Job duties include:
- Organize and direct the work of technicians involved in the manufacture and packaging of products.
- Coach and mentor direct reports in support of employee engagement, development, and performance management.
- Manage the training of direct reports on production techniques and procedures and foster a culture of safety and quality.
- Initiate and lead process improvements, failure investigations, and corrective activities within assigned areas.
- Draft and edit processes and procedures as needed, following documented processes and procedures.
- Support manufacturing design, development, testing and product change activities.
- Support the development and transfer of new products and technologies including validation activities.
- Support the purchase and validation of manufacturing equipment.
- Develop project justification and capital project proposals.
- Exhibit role model behavior.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Attributes:
- Bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull low to moderate weight.
- Occasion use of ladders and steps.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment, “PPE”, including but not limited to hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes
- Hearing within normal limits.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or other Life Science discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience.
- 3 + years of technical experience in chromatography
- Experience leading a team lead
- Effective scientific problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working independently as well as in a team environment.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Ability to work in a laboratory setting where chemicals are used.
