Pay Range: $1,208- $1,344 per credit hour and in accordance to the Adjunct table and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary:
Johnson County Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Adjunct Professor position in the Graphic Design and Visual Design Applications Department beginning spring 2026. The position requires individuals who are well-versed in contemporary design practice with proven experience in teaching, leadership, and communication.
The current need is for on-campus, face-to-face classes that meet during evening or daytime hours. Online course assignments are not currently available.
To be considered, candidates must submit a digital portfolio showcasing design industry experience with a particular focus on social media, motion, and/or UI/UX. Student outcomes should also be included (if available).
Adjunct Faculty serve multiple roles as teachers, mentors, colleagues, and scholars. Adjunct Faculty are expected to excel in classroom instruction and to fulfill various responsibilities related to their assigned teaching duties.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Graphic Design (or related discipline) with relevant professional experience (3 years minimum) or Associates of Applied Science degree in Graphic Design with relevant professional experience (5 years minimum)
- Proven experience in solving design problems through innovative use of digital modalities such as social media, time-based media, and/or UI/UX.
- Demonstrated teaching ability and/or leadership experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills working with students, colleagues, staff, supervisors and community.
- Computer literacy including ability to communicate, develop teaching materials and enter grades electronically.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Graphic Design (or related discipline)
- One or more years of college teaching experience in the Graphic Design discipline.
