This person shall be responsible for performing skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of college facilities, equipment, and fixtures. They shall possess the necessary education, training, and skills to personally carry out responsibilities related to electrical, air conditioning/refrigeration, plumbing, mechanical, and other essential functions. This person will report to the Physical Plant Director or their designee.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Schedules and performs preventive maintenance on college heating and air conditioning equipment.
Conducts routine maintenance and repair on all college equipment.
Reports information to the Physical Plant Director’s office regarding the estimated cost of materials and labor for assigned work.
Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and college standards.
Ensures that all repairs and installations meet local building codes and safety requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.


 

 

 
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in maintenance work related to electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques and troubleshooting methods.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping purposes.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Associate’s degree or vocational training in a related field.
Five (5) or more years of experience in facility maintenance or construction.
Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing trades.
Experience in supervising maintenance personnel.
Working knowledge of local building codes and OSHA regulations.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment safely.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
Must be able to respond to emergency maintenance needs outside regular working hours.
