The FX Senior Trading and Risk Analyst will assist the Group Leader to establish and conduct risk controls and best practices for the FX Trading product.  This position will assist FX management and the firm in understanding and responding to risks for the FX Trading product in a timely manner.

Some of your key responsibilities include:  

Risk Management & Governance      

  • Establish, maintain, and evolve quantitative techniques and risk methodologies to measure market and volatility risk
  • Ensure appropriateness and oversee preparation of risk reporting and analysis, including ad hoc analysis
  • Provide technical expertise in support of creating ever more efficient means of conducting daily oversight tasks as required for BBH’s FX business.
  • Establish detailed understanding of FX PnL calculation. Establish, maintain and evolve associated analytical tools.
  • Produce analysis as required in support of governance and oversight activities, including executive level oversight committees. 
  • Presentation of such analysis to oversight bodies as required.
  • Research and interpret industry trends and prepare reports for management, as requested
  • Establish detailed understanding of FX PnL calculation. Establish, maintain and evolve associated analytical tools.
  • Assist in determining appropriate action to resolve risk events (e.g. market exposures) that arise in connection with FX or other area within BBH’s Markets division
  • Analyze risks for new FX products and services.

Qualifications:

Education level and/or relevant experience(s)    

  • Bachelor degree in finance or related discipline.
  • 8 plus years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a front office Risk/Control function in the financial services industry.
  • CFA or progress thereto a significant plus

Knowledge and Skills (general and technical)     

  • Familiarity with quantitative risk measurement methodologies (e.g. VaR)   
  • Experience with coding/building prototype risk models and reporting using Python, R, SQL etc. a significant plus
  • Comfort with managing large datasets, mining data from disparate source in support of analysis
  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently to identify risks/solutions and drive initiatives to completion
  • Must be able to work independently with limited direct supervision  
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g. Qlik, Spotfire, Sisense) beneficial
  • Ability to articulate risk management policies and methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations.

This role is based in our New York City location and is a hybrid role, with three days per week in office.

   

Salary Range

$120k - $150k base salary + annual bonus target

BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing.
