BASIC FUNCTION:
The main purpose of this position is to evaluate applicants for admission to the University. Responsibilities include travel on behalf of the university, calls, written correspondence, and admission recommendations; makes critical judgments, presents arguments recommending admissions decisions to the Admissions Committee; counsel’s candidates and their parents on admissions and curricular choices. Incumbent will provide positive, efficient, and effective communications with students, parents, secondary school officials and alumni.

None.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Determine admissibility of prospective students to the University.
• Correspond with prospective students, applicants, guidance counselors and others seeking information on admissions standards and application status.
• Interpret and apply university policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Answer daily admission inquiries by email, phone, and in person.
• Participates with special programs and research projects, and in the development and implementation of enrollment strategies.
• Attends on and off-site recruitment events, as necessary.
• Ability and willingness to work some evenings/weekends and some overnight travel, as necessary. 40% travel per year during the fall and spring.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
- Experience with various computer software including Microsoft Office, SLATE and banner.
- Ability to travel both locally and nationally to represent Howard University.
- Valid drivers license.
Work Environment:
- 12 Months, full time 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday
- Weekends and evenings as necessary
- In person on Howard University main campus. This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid.
