BA Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind power onshore and offshore as well as other non-hydro renewable activities like solar and batteries. We carry out the sourcing and development of wind projects as well as having the full responsibility for wind project execution. We also perform the structuring and execution of project partnerships in accordance with overall wind strategy.

Vattenfall is now looking for the right person to fill the position as Manager of Geoscience reporting to the Head of Site & System Design in Offshore Development, in BA Wind. You will be responsible for a team of dedicated engineers with the responsibility to deliver geotechnical and geophysical related technical capabilities from early assessment and development to construction and operation of offshore wind farms. You will have two managers (geophysical and geotechnical) and a number of individual contributors as direct reports. You will be responsible for setting up the necessary processes for seamless interaction with all internal stakeholders, especially the other teams in the department (Metocean, System Design, Modelling & Optimization and package managers), as well as Technical Solution Development and Procurement.

As Manager of Geoscience you will be a part of the Department Management Team and thereby also influencing the overall department strategy.

As Manager of Geoscience in Offshore Wind, you have the following key responsibilities:

• Help to grow the Vattenfall offshore pipeline.
• Supply geotechnical, geophysical and UXO deliverables to projects, handling contract negotiations and contractual deliveries.
• Develop a department strategy in order to supply project resources for developing, executing and operating projects by having a portfolio view.
• Handling frameworks agreements and securing a balancing setup between in- and external resources.
• Have a lifecycle view and secure smooth transition between project phases.
• Drive standardization of deliverables and enable us to take technical leadership in Geoscience within the offshore industry.
• Proactively live the Technical Authority within the organization.
• Management of the team, including securing continued high engagement and development of people and competences.

Qualifications

• You have an engineering university degree (master, PhD or equal) with extensive relevant work experience as a leader in an international organisation, preferably within a wind environment.
• You have strong knowledge, experience and skills in geotechnical and geophysical tasks, site investigations and related contract management
• You are a highly committed person with a high degree of flexibility and self-motivation.
• Team player with ability to clearly communicate complex topics to non-Geoscience  specialists.
• Strong analytical skills and an innovative mind set.
• Well organized and a structured work approach.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to function well in an international team environment and interface with a broad range of co-workers and contractors spread over multiple locations.
• Your command of English is strong, both verbally and written.
