Department Summary

HSC Health is the academic clinical practice of the Health Science Center, where quality care meets quality education.

HSC Health primary and multispecialty care offices are located on the HSC, Denton and Dallas UNT System campuses, focusing on improving health outcomes to build healthier communities. Care includes mobile health initiatives and extends to hospitals, surgery centers, long-term/continuing care centers, and in-home care.
HSC Health’s interprofessional teams work collaboratively to achieve an optimized treatment plan tailored to the individual patient.

Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, specialized technicians, nurses and more work together while intentionally integrating healthcare students, residents, and fellows to deliver care to our community.

Position Overview

The position is responsible for providing primary care services and participating within an interprofessional team focused on delivering services in an ambulatory and/or LTC care setting(s). This position requires clinical assessment/evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients in accordance with the standard of care.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree and five (5) years related experience, must have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program, or an accredited Graduate Nursing Program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Comprehensive understanding of the aging process, knowledge og geriatric health conditions, assessments, and evidence-based practice.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior clinicial experience with patients 65+

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Ability to obtain a Texas Physician Assistant License, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License, and Nurse Practitioner

Job Duties:

  • Primary medical care to patients with various medical continuations; examine,diagnose, prevention, develop and review treatment plans, ongoing care, order and review laboratory tests as needed to treat medical patients. Actively participate in a multi-disciplinary team of individuals in primary care delivery. 
  • Collaborate with medical supervisor/physician of the healthcare team(s) and other members of the team such as; advance practice professionals and other clinical providers (Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Pharm
