What You Can Expect
The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the financial accounting and reporting activities for a portfolio of renewable energy entities, including distributed solar and storage projects. This role operates in a complex, multi-entity, project-finance environment with high visibility to auditors, lenders, and senior leadership. Position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining a strong control environment, and driving transformation initiatives to scale the business. The Accounting Manager will also support ongoing M&A activity.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and annual close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements and reporting packages
- Manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, and consolidations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS accounting standards
- Analyze financial results and provide insights to leadership
- Oversee accounting for renewable energy, solar, and storage projects
- Manage capitalization, depreciation, and revenue recognition
- Research and resolve complex accounting transactions
- Support acquisitions, divestitures, and integration activities
- Coordinate external and internal audits
- Maintain SOX compliance and strong internal controls
- Support lender reporting and financing requirements
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
- Drive automation, ERP enhancements, and workflow optimization
- Improve reporting accuracy, data quality, and system integration
- Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Asset Management teams
- Support cash forecasting and project performance analysis
- Provide accounting guidance on business initiatives
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Manage priorities across multiple entities and projects
- Support the growth and scalability of the renewable energy portfolio
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA or Chartered Accountant (ACCA/CA) – required
- Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including minimum two years in a leadership role
- Strong experience in multi-entity accounting and consolidations
- Proven experience supporting external audits and complex reporting environments
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP and Blackline preferred)
- Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, project finance, or distributed generation
- Background in partnership accounting, tax equity, or structured financing
- Experience supporting or leading transformation initiatives (ERP, automation, process redesign)
- Exposure to M&A transactions, integrations, or carve-outs
- Strong data handling skills (advanced Excel; experience with large datasets is a plus)
