Tate & Lyle Global Shared Services Centre in Łódź is the principal location for handling the business support activities and processes for Tate & Lyle, both transactional as well as value-added business partnering support. Starting operations in 2011 with less than 50 people, we now have over 350 employees supporting operations globally. We have 30 teams operating in Łódź to provide service in the areas of Finance, Customer Service, Procurement, HR/People Services, and IS/IT

ROLE PURPOSE

The Accounting & Reporting Accountant - Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial reporting process by ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. This role involves assisting with the preparation of financial statements, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Complete all R2R Month End Close Activities according to Month End Close Timetable (including journal entries calculation and posting, reconciliation and confirmation of monthly intercompany balances and preparation data for consolidation purposes- HFM- Hyperion Financial Management submission).
  • Ownership of more complex R2R processes / more demanding entities in R2R scope.
  • Ensure appropriate business sense checks are in place, and continuously identify and recommend improvements to enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports.
  • Produce monthly control files to ensure all reconciliations are complete.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Perform more complex monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations, assure proper follow-up.
  • Support statutory reporting and reconcile the ledgers.
  • Adhere to performance metrics targets and take corrective actions to meet service level expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvements to systems and processes in place to ensure best practice, optimum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Participate in projects aiming to change and improve processes in General Ledger area.
  • Close collaboration with all finance teams and other support functions as necessary.
  • Independently liaise with Internal and External Audit.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accountants and other team members.

  • Performance against KPI (key performance indicators), such as accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency metrics.
  • Compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Implementation of process improvements that enhance efficiency, save time or costs and reduce manual effort.
  • Effectiveness in mentoring and developing less experienced team members.
  • Fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Effectiveness in communicating with stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
  • Positive feedback from internal and external stakeholders regarding the quality and timeliness of financial information.

QUALIFICATIONS

University degree in Finance, Accounting or Accountancy Course (preferably SKWP level 2).

EXPERIENCE

  • Two+ years of experience in accounting.
  • Experience in SAP.
  • BW/HFM (Hyperion) experience is desirable.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

  • Proficiency in Excel is essential, with additional skills in VBA, Power Query, and Power BI considered advantageous.
  • Extensive knowledge in Finance and Accounting.
  • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written.
  • Highly developed analytical skills.
  • Exceptional teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Strong drive for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and deliver tasks in a timely manner.
  • Strong business acumen.
