Senior Software Quality Engineer - Virtualization

<h2>About the job</h2> <p>The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer to join us in Brno, or remotely in the Czech Republic. In this role, you will focus on virtualization (https://libvirt.org/) testing, which will require and deliver in-depth knowledge of the Linux OS and include but not limited to researching new features, developing automated test scripts, contributing to open source communities and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) tools. We'll need you to have the ability to think creatively and adapt to rapid change, as well as the willingness to learn new things. You'll have the opportunity to develop innovative solutions to complex problems while working alongside some of the brightest engineers in the open source industry. Interested in gaining insight into our team's work environment? Watch our QE engineers share their experiences in this video.</p> <h2>What you will do</h2> <ul> <li>Take responsibility for Virtualization testing and supervise the results in a timely manner</li> <li>Create and review test plans and suggest improvements for product planning processes</li> <li>Research and implement new APIs and features to be automated; Develop new automated and manual cases</li> <li>Develop and maintain automation testing framework in Python; write and review patches on GitHub</li> <li>Execute, implement, review, and debug test results and fix problems</li> <li>Develop and maintain CI and CD tools</li> <li>Provide timely, complete, and accurate test status reports to all stakeholders</li> <li>Analyze and prioritize quality risks and identify tests required to mitigate them</li> <li>Focus on delivering customer value, analyzing feedback, and enhancing test coverage</li> <li>Continuously improve testing, docs, processes, and tools</li> </ul> <h2>What you will bring</h2> <ul> <li>Working experience in software testing or development</li> <li>Experienced in scripting and solid programming with Python for more than 2 years; knowledgeable of standard and commonly used libraries and frameworks and best practices in coding</li> <li>Experience managing Linux systems, e.g. system administration, troubleshooting a broken machine or container</li> <li>Work experience in virtualization (KVM, QEMU, libvirt, cloud or container and similar) is a plus</li> <li>Experience contributing to open source is a plus</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English</li> </ul> <p>#LI-KS1</p>
