We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team as an ED Boarder. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients admitted to the hospital but awaiting an inpatient bed, ensuring their needs are met while they remain in our Emergency Department
Unit Summary: - 60,000 visits annually - 50 licensed beds, with 5 different care areas - Pediatric ED - Staffed with board certified Emergency Medicine Pediatricians- Behavioral Health section of ED - Verified American College of Surgeons Level 3 Trauma Center - Certified Stroke Center - Primary Angioplasty program - DPH SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) program
This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED) and to join a 3-time Magnet-recognized, community-based hospital.
Hours:
Full Time, 36 hours/week, Days 7a-7p
Every third weekend, rotating holidays
Requirements:
Provide continuous nursing care for admitted ED boarder patients awaiting inpatient beds.
Monitor patient conditions, including vital signs, symptoms, and overall well-being.
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information in EPIC
Educate patients and families on care plans and hospital processes.
Independently provide direct nursing care to patients and their families in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices
Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year Emergency Department experience
Active MA RN licensure in good standing
BSN is strongly preferred
Associate’s degree required
BLS required
ACLS required
1-2 years of Critical Care Experience
