About the role

Serves as general support to Academic Affairs and Learning Resource Center (LRC) services. Provides comprehensive library services to students, faculty and college staff in the use of library resources, including information literacy instruction to students. Assists the LRC Coordinator in overall library operations. Provides test proctoring services to students. Supports faculty and academic staff in the areas of scheduling, student appointments, and event coordination. Assists Academic Affairs in overall academic operations.

Major Responsibilities:

Academic Support:

Coordinates the room-scheduling function. Schedules all rooms for academic courses and provides backup for special function scheduling.

Assists school secretaries or those assigned the responsibility of data entry for the purpose of schedule production.

Notifies appropriate staff (Instructional Technology, Facilities, etc.) of required services for classrooms or events.

Assists with creating marketing flyers/materials for classes and, generally, for the campus. Updates Academic bulletin boards.

Assists Admissions in planning and executing campus events, including Express Enrollment, Go Ivy Days, Middle/High School campus visits. Major involvement in New Titan Orientation events.

Assists faculty with copying/collating student hand-outs for faculty (syllabi, tests/quizzes, homework assignments, etc.).When necessary, assists faculty by monitoring classroom during tests/quizzes.

LRC Services:

Assists students and faculty with the use of learning resources, including computers and computer applications, the learning management system, the print management system, and audio/visual equipment, and resolving problems with these resources as directed.

Checks-in and maintains the print serials collection and reserve books collection; shelving books and other materials. Prepares and manages ILL (inter library loan) shipment requests.

Administers test proctoring services for students, including working with online appointment making, following test proctor regulations and exam handling, and supporting new student use of online assessment testing and measurement tools (Knowledge Assessment)

Gathers and reports in-library usage statistics and online resources usage statistics as assigned by the LRC Coordinator.
Assists classroom instructors, as requested and as can be reasonably scheduled, with introducing students to the resources of the LRC and with instructing students in basic research operations, including at the OAMTC location.

Assists Warsaw students in seeking and obtaining tutoring support from the Fort Wayne CAE (Center for Academic Excellence.)
 

Stocking and monitoring the Warsaw Basics Bank, our campus food, toiletries, and support pantry. Assists with the Warsaw Laptop Loan to Own Program administered by the LRC. Assisting with scheduling physical campus spaces for outside groups as well as College events.

Serving on the Warsaw team for IvyCares and Helping Hands Warsaw program students.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of an Associate Degree required, preferably with educational background in library science or higher education. Several years of library experience desired, particularly in an academic or other educational setting, or experience working with college academic and student support roles.

Must have proven staff leadership abilities, strong people skills to liaison with others, and be customer-driven in helping students. Must be a self-starter and have organizational abilities with handling library resources, records. Knowledge of information databases is imperative, with strong computer skills in Word, Excel, and web functionalities.
