Description

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Pediatric Anesthesiology with a focus on Pediatric Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. ABA certification with subspeciality certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology, the equivalent, or status as a candidate in the examination system along with ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license are required.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching in our formal didactic lecture program as well as the informal teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care professionals working in the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas.

Clinical responsibilities may include direct patient care and medical direction in the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas. Primary practice is located at the Philadelphia campus of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Experience in pediatric cardiothoracic anesthesiology and evidence of academic productivity and leadership in projects related to an area of focus is required.

The Academic Clinician track is intended for faculty members who demonstrate impactful contributions to clinical care and education and who develop an Area of Concentration (AoC) in which they become recognized.
