Senior Financial Planning Analyst

Summary:

The Sr. Financial Planning Analyst plays a key role in analyzing the financials of a large or global division or multiple staff functions. Proactively engages with the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Finance Business Partners (FBP) with ad hoc and periodic analyses that enables the planning, budgeting, and forecasting (PBF) process and business intelligence (BI).

 

Schedule & Location:

This position is office-based in Johnston, RI and follows a full-time schedule Monday through Friday. Start and stop times are flexible. Occasional domestic travel may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Delivers quality and timely management reporting to include in planning, budgeting and forecasting for FBPs and division/staff function decision-makers including ad-hoc analysis.
• Supports FBPs with both ad hoc and periodic analyses and financial models of a division/staff function to enable PBF process and BI.
• Participates in the development of detailed monthly management reporting and analysis process for a large division/multiple staff functions impacting decisions of the financial performance.
• Helps develop key assumptions and drivers of PBF process by challenging current ideas.
• Proactively provides transparent and frequent financial updates and actionable insights including regional trends, opportunities, and risks to support leadership options for business' action and decision making for FBPs.
• Proactively engages with Head of FP&A and Sr FBPs to ensure timely and accurate delivery of analysis that directly relate to strategic initiatives and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience

 

Highly Preferred Education:

• Professional certification e.g. CPA, ACA, ACCA
• Master's degree

 

Required Work Experience:

10+ years of related work experience in finance/accounting is required

 

Highly Preferred Work Experience:

Finance experience at an insurance company is highly preferred

The hiring range for this position is $110,900-$159,400. The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience.
