Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Risk Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and improving a comprehensive risk management program to identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, and strategic risks across the organization. The Enterprise Risk Manager will play a crucial role in safeguarding our business operations and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. They will provide the leadership, innovation, governance, and management vital to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the company’s risk. This position will coordinate with other key leaders in the company regarding risk management and third-party vendor risk program and an integral role on the ERM Council and Committee, to assure alignment of the organization’s objectives with its management of operational and strategic risks.
Key Responsibilities:
ERM Program
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to the organization.
- Manage various ERM processes, including coordinate and track ERM Risk Assessment program requirements/deliverables, monitor Key Risk Indicator (KRI) metrics and escalation of out of parameter KRIs, and identify, report, and assess emerging risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and evaluate risks associated with various business activities and projects and identify effective risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize impact of emerging risks.
- Work closely with department heads to ensure that risk management practices are integrated into daily operations.
- Assist in coordinating, reviewing, and publishing annual regulatory filings.
- Support the Corporate Insurance program through the preparation of insurance renewals and applications.
- Develop and maintain an effective incident response plan to address unforeseen events and crises.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure a prompt and efficient response to incidents, minimizing potential damage.
Enterprise Compliance
- Stay current on industry regulations and standards, ensuring the organization's compliance with relevant requirements.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory concerns and implement necessary changes.
- Provide input into the build-out of the Enterprise Compliance program, such as the development and implementation of monitoring and testing procedures and the creation of key metrics for internal reporting.
- Support policy governance, issues management and risk assessment processes, including assisting in maintaining the policy repository, monitoring remediation plans for open compliance issues, and contributing to the review and analysis of the results of the compliance risk assessment and related documentation.
- Prepare regular reports on risk assessments, mitigation efforts, and compliance status for executive leadership and relevant committees.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of risk management processes and activities.
- Communicate risk management strategies and updates to key stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, and board committees.
- Foster a risk-aware culture by providing training and guidance on risk management principles.
Other Duties
- Assist with Records Management, Counterparty Risk Management, and Model Risk Governance, as needed.
- Develop Governance, Risk and Control/Compliance (GRC) tool strategy for the organization by leveraging existing GRC platform or other opportunities.
- Evaluate strategic initiatives / implementations for risk identification, risk mitigation strategies and overall reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Master's degree and risk management certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in enterprise risk management (within automotive industry preferred and preferably in a Tier 1 supplier environment).
- Demonstrated understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Excellent critical and innovative thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global and diverse teams and influence key stakeholders.
- Ability to travel internationally as required (typically 4 times per year)
