Overview
BerryDunn is seeking a Senior Consultant – Technical Analyst to join our State Government Practice Group as a full-time hire, focused on serving our state Finance and Administration (F&A) agency clients. As a Senior Consultant, you will have the right mix of demonstrated project management, technical, and software system implementation skills and experience, as well as exceptional organizational and self-management qualities, strong leadership and client-facing capabilities, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
You will support projects for a variety of service areas including risk assessments/Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), information technology (IT) systems planning, procurement, and other system implementation support services. You will report to the Project Oversight and Quality Assurance Practice Lead within the State Government Practice Group team.
Travel Expectations: While most of our team only travels occasionally, travel for client engagements might range up to 50% depending on client and project needs.
You Will
- Lead and support BerryDunn projects providing services for state government clients, such as IV&V, project risk assessments, IT systems planning and procurement, business process improvement/analysis, independent testing, quality assurance, project management, and other similar services
- Conduct fact-finding activities such as meeting observation, document review, group interviews, and surveys to identify risks and issues facing client projects
- Report on project status (written and verbal)—including risks and issues—to different audiences, including client executive leadership
- Facilitate meetings and interviews with client stakeholders with confidence and professionalism
- Play a role in developing staff; contribute to maintaining and building a positive, fun, and innovative F&A team culture; and participate in and/or lead marketing, proposal, training and other team growth and development activities
You Have
- Expertise in IT system implementations, particularly for state government financial systems
- Deep understanding of software system implementation technical domains, including data migration, system integration/interfaces, cybersecurity, software development lifecycle, requirements management and system testing, system architecture, operations and system maintenance, etc.
- Experience with IV&V, project management, risk assessment, IT systems planning and procurement, business process improvement/analysis, independent testing, quality assurance, and other similar services
- Familiarity with project management documents and best practices. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute is a plus
- Familiarity with state government systems and business processes, such as tax revenue, accounting and finance, HR/payroll, grants management, unemployment insurance, employee pensions, transportation management, or licensing systems
- A strong customer focus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including communicating complex issues succinctly and logically
- The ability to balance multiple assignments and achieve quality results in a timely manner
- The ability to create and sustain positive working relationships with staff and diverse constituencies and to work independently as well as collaboratively
Compensation Details
The base salary range targeted for this role is $80,000 - $130,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
