Who we are
The Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology is the only department of its kind in Texas and has a rich tradition of excellence in education, research and outreach with an emphasis on veterinary and human medicine. The department houses the Michael E. DeBakey Institute for Cardiovascular Science and Biomedical Devices, the Reproductive Sciences Center, the Interdisciplinary Toxicology Program and the Center for Cell and Organ Biotechnology.
What we want
The Laboratory Animal Care Manager, under direction, oversees the operation of the physiology and pharmacology laboratories, ensuring compliance with regulations, coordinating teaching activities, and managing animal health programs. The manager will supervise daily tasks and implement safety procedures to maintain biohazard and environmental standards. Additionally, they handle administrative functions such as scheduling, purchasing, and personnel management while providing strategic guidance to leadership on program direction.

Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree veterinary technology, biomedical science, animal science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed veterinary technician.
1 year experience teaching veterinary students.
1 year experience working with animal use protocols.
Proficiency with learning management systems.
