The Revenue and Cost Accounting Manager will be a critical leader within our GC Packaging team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of revenue, cost, and asset accounting with a strong focus on inventory management. This role is integral to our financial operations and requires a highly skilled professional dedicated to excellence in accuracy, metric reporting, and thorough documentation. The ideal candidate will possess strong proficiency in financial systems such as QuickBooks, Visual, D365, and Oracle Suite, coupled with a deep understanding of accounting principles and best practices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Revenue Accounting:
- Oversee revenue recognition processes in compliance with accounting standards.
- Analyze sales transactions and ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting.
- Monitor and report on revenue trends, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Cost Accounting:
- Perform detailed cost accounting to support pricing strategies and profitability analysis.
- Analyze and report on cost variances, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee and manage inventory accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and implement best practices for inventory control.
- Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to optimize inventory management.
- Asset Management:
- Maintain accurate records of company assets, ensuring proper tracking and depreciation.
- Coordinate with operations to manage asset acquisitions and disposals.
- Implement and monitor controls to safeguard company assets.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Controller, highlighting key metrics and trends.
- Ensure all financial documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
- Provide comprehensive analysis of revenue, cost, and asset management data to support business decisions.
- Systems Proficiency:
- Utilize QuickBooks, Visual, D365, and/or Oracle Suite to manage accounting processes.
- Continuously improve system processes and integrations for enhanced efficiency.
- Team Collaboration and Cross-Training:
- Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting cross-training and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor and train team members to ensure a high level of competence and performance.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following credentials:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in revenue, cost, and asset management accounting, with a focus on inventory management.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Visual, D365, and/or Oracle Suite.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Driven, proactive, and eager to learn and grow within the organization.
