General Manager - The Seven Hills Inn

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

The Seven Hills Inn is seeking a General Manager for our site in Lenox, MA to lead the re-opening and phased transformation of the property into a LOGE Camps location.

 

This is a unique opportunity to guide a hotel through an exciting new chapter — reopening operations while simultaneously overseeing a phased renovation and rebranding to align with the LOGE Camps experience. Seven Hills, set on 27 acres of lush lawns and stunning gardens, is ideal for year-round vacations, romantic getaways, destination weddings, family reunions, and corporate events. This Gilded Age Mansion, located in the heart of the Berkshires, invites you to enjoy the luxuries of a time long since passed. 

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing budgets and financial plans and controlling expenditure   

• Maintaining statistical and financial records   

• Setting and achieving sales and profit targets   

• Recruiting, training, and monitoring staff   

• Planning work schedules for individuals and teams   

• Meeting and greeting customers   

• Dealing with customer complaints and comments   

• Addressing problems and troubleshooting   

• Ensuring events and conferences run smoothly   

• Supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations, and furnishings   

• Dealing with contractors and suppliers   

• Ensuring security is effective   

• Carrying out inspections of property and services   

• Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations  

• All other duties as assigned  

 

SKILLS NEEDED

· A love for showing people a good time, with a host mindset and a deep sense of responsibility for every detail of the guest experience.

· An entrepreneurial spirit and have the ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment.

· An ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, and to lead a team to do the same.

· A low tolerance for workplace drama, and a frank, forthright, and tactful communication style.

· Strong interpersonal skills with ability to remain positive and effectively deal with stressful situations, including jumping in and getting your hands dirty.

· A leadership approach that focuses on listening and on setting employees up for success.

· A willingness to share best practices, and learn new ways of doing things.

· A demonstrated ability to make good judgement calls, and a track record of operating with integrity.

· Previous experience traveling, exploring, adventuring and staying in a variety of hotel, hostel, and campground locations.

 

REQUIREMENTS

· Preferred experience in leading a hotel renovation

· Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field, preferred

· 4+ years managing a mid-size hotel property (50-100 room), as an AGM or GM with direct reports

· 3+ years managing a food and beverage program.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Products, hospitality software.

· Fluent in English. Bilingual a plus!

· Must have, or be able to obtain, Washington State Food Handler Card.

· Must have, or be able to obtain, Alcohol Servers Permit.

· All crew members are subject to a background check.
