The Team:
The Perinatal Mental Health Clinician is a member of the multidisciplinary Perinatal Mental Health Team based in Adult Community Mental Health Services (ACMHS). As a senior member of the perinatal service, the Perinatal Mental Health Clinician will. assist in providing specialist care to women, infants and their families within their designated region identified as at risk of, or having, moderate to severe perinatal mental health disorders, as part of a North and North West Tasmanian multidisciplinary perinatal mental health team.
The Role:
- Provide specialist mental health assessment and clinical management to women in the perinatal period to promote positive maternal mental health and enhance the parent-infant relationship.
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary context to provide advanced mental health care to women with complex mental health and psychological problems.
- Participate in the development and evaluation of the multidisciplinary PMHS Team Quality and Safety activities.
- Participate with other members of the multidisciplinary PMHS Team in providing education and training to staff and key stakeholders, including but not limited to on maternity and neonatal services, Child Health and Parenting Service, and Child Protection Services.
You will need
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience within Mental Health Services, with a demonstrated understanding of Perinatal and Infant Mental Health clinical practice.
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience of the range of psychiatric disorders which may occur in the perinatal period, and appropriate treatments.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary environment and engage with a broad range of service providers/stakeholders in the development of programs that will improve patient wellbeing.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 31 December 2025.

Salary:
$110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
