Hours: 12-hour shift – 7:00pm to 7:00am
Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS
A Hospital Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is a skilled healthcare professional responsible for delivering immediate medical care to patients experiencing acute illness or injury. Whether responding to in‑hospital emergencies, assisting with rapid patient assessments, or supporting emergency department staff, Hospital EMTs play a critical role in stabilizing patients and ensuring timely, effective medical intervention. EMT assess patient conditions, administer basic life support measures such as CPR and wound care, and assist with safe patient transport within the facility or to higher‑level care areas when needed. Emergency Medical Technicians primary goal is to provide rapid stabilization and essential pre‑treatment support, ensuring that patients receive prompt, coordinated care in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Respond to in‑hospital emergencies, assess patients, and provide immediate interventions including CPR, airway support, and bleeding control.
- Deliver first aid and basic life support (BLS) while stabilizing patients until advanced care is available.
- Safely transport and assist with lifting, transferring, and positioning patients throughout the hospital.
- Document care accurately, maintain emergency equipment, and follow infection‑control and safety protocol
Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014
- Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required
