Senior Full Stack Engineer (all genders)

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

The Sports & Beauty Engineering team is looking for a talented Senior Full Stack + React Native Software Engineer who has a passion for growing, building applications and solving problems with a customer centric mindset.

Our team consists of a mix of Software Engineers, Product Managers and Designers with the mission of maximising our impact on Zalando's customer journey to bring innovation and improvements to Zalando's Sports and Beauty experience.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Software Engineers to identify what our customers need most, design the solution to solve these challenges and take full ownership of developing it, from changing existing applications to creating new ones when needed. You will have the opportunity to solve problems using technologies like React, React Native, Node.js, TypeScript, Golang, Scala, Java, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, AWS Stack, event based architectures and much more. WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Develop high-quality and responsive user interfaces for web and mobile applications using modern frontend frameworks such as React for web and React Native for mobile apps.

• Collaborate with designers to create visually appealing interfaces that meet user needs and brand guidelines

• Work closely with product managers and backend engineers to integrate frontend components with backend APIs and databases

• Ensure the client applications are optimized for speed and performance, including minimizing load times and maximizing interactivity

• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code that can be easily understood and modified by other team members

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members

• Stay up-to-date with the latest frontend technologies and trends and bring new ideas and solutions to the team

• Ensure the client applications are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities

• Test and debug frontend components to identify and fix issues that arise during development

• Document technical specifications and provide support to other team members as needed

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

Must Haves:

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Node.js

• Experience with modern frontend frameworks React and React Native

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Experience with version control tools such as Git

• Commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement

Nice to have: 

• Experience with server-side rendering (SSR)

• Familiarity with backend technologies such as APIs and databases

• Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) principles

• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma
