Job Purpose

We are seeking a skilled Software Test Engineer to join our team. As a Software Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. Your responsibilities will include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement testing procedures to evaluate software performance
• Building software testing programs that automate testing processes
• Running software testing procedures to evaluate the software
• Documenting all testing procedures and all software modules according to established standards; work with end users, Business Analysts and QA Analysts to clarify expected behavior of software features
• Reporting bugs and making recommendations to improve the software product
• Perform root cause analysis of software bugs
• Formally enter software bugs into bug tracking system with detailed information regarding the bug
• Review product documentation for technical accuracy, readability and usability
• Collaborating with other Test Engineers, Software Programmers, and team members
• Retesting software after bugs are fixed to ensure proper functionality
• Attending meetings with the development team, clients, and other group
• Continuously research to keep current with new technologies and best practices
• Contribute to continuous improvements of existing systems
• Participate in the development of the department's strategic goals and direction

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
• 4 years experience
• Software development/test experience in a team environment
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps will be considered as a plus
• Experience with Windows OS, UNIX, C/C++, Java and Python.
  •  Web Applications testing will be considered as a plus
• Excellent testing, debugging and analysis skills
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Thorough, detail-oriented and willing to take ownership of projects and resolution of problems
• Ability to communicate easily and clearly with the engineering group to craft testing procedures/methodologies
• Excellent writing, verbal communication and organizational skills
• Self-directed and willing to respond to direct tasking

 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Modbus, Web Socket, MQTT, TCP/IP and networking
• Energy systems engineering experience or Power Supply experience is a plus
