Position Overview
 

This is a skilled position responsible for safely moving materials into and out of a department, and ensuring the correct materials are processed promptly and accurately.
 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

•  Ability to multitask, keep accurate count & measurements, communication skills, &  operate skid loader to assist with clean up effort. 
• Use and understand delivery receipts, and production demands. 
• Locate products in the facility and distribute to proper stockpiles via conveyor belts.  
• Handle product carefully to avoid damage and ensure safety for self and others.
• Ensure that contamination of products does not happen.
• Recognize product defects and notify the supervisor immediately.
• Ensure the truck is on level ground before unloading.
• Hand shovels and rakes to perform groundwork.
• Performs other laborer duties as required.         
• May operate equipment as needed if trained, including skid steer and other equipment. 
• Keeps machinery area clean of debris and shovels aggregate.
• Performs machinery maintenance and repairs.  Unplugs and shovels off conveyors and screens. Changes out screens, rollers, cone liners, etc.  Repairs conveyor problems. Greases moving machine parts.
• Performs job site clean-up.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance and adhere to all safety policies.

Education/Experience
 
•    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
 

Work Requirements
 
•    Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 

•    Ability to perform mathematical calculations and measurements with numbers, fractions, and decimals, typically acquired through high school education or equivalency.
•    Ability to lift 75 lbs.
•    Ability to work 12-hour shifts.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
 
•    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
•    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
•    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
•    Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.

•    Valid Driver’s License is preferred
