About the role

Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions including adjustments, variance analysis and journal entries creations, all supported with requisite documentation. This role aids in the leadership of the accounting team members and the support of their continued growth. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Processes Receivables and posts cash receipts to the receivables
  • Processes and monitors annual Tradeshow Invoices and payments 
  • Assists with processing payables 
  • Performs Revenue Analysis by type of vendor
  • Monitors and manages AR Aging determining bad debt accounts with the collaboration of the data team
  • Performs multi account Bank Reconciliations
  • Backup to Accounting Manager for Payroll duties
  • Performs general ledger accounting tasks including journal entries, opening and closing analysis, month end journal entries, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Supports team through leadership and continued development of accounting team members
  • Complete accounting and reporting activities in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and prescribed accounting policies and/or the financial procedures of the organization.
  • Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
  • Ensure month-end close and financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Act as a liaison with the general ledger and corporate accounting teams to ensure regular timely and accurate closes.
  • Preparation of standard reporting templates and packages are completed accurately and timely.
  • Provide documentation and support to internal and external auditors. 
  • Help nurture an environment of continuous process improvement in the general ledger function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in an accounting function is required.
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills are necessary for success in this role.
  • Strong Excel skills are required.
  • Experience with and knowledge of ERP accounting software, and all Microsoft Office applications is required.  Oracle experience preferred.
  • Ability to develop relationships with diverse groups and various levels of financial and operating personnel. 
  • Experience in a central location managing field accounting activities is preferred.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision in resolving generally understood and/or more complex issues.
  • Flexibility, multi-tasking, creative thinking, good business judgment, strong organizational & communication skills are all required to meet strict deadlines and manage other projects.
  • Must be a strong team player and leader, highly motivated, and able to work under pressure during peak periods.
  • Ability to perform complex or highly technical accounting tasks and functions.
  • Ability to communicate well with internal and external parties, including other regions, customers, banks, vendors, internal accountants and provide excellent customer service
