Technical Writer (3682)

RUN Studios, and its client partner, a large online retailer headquartered in Seattle, are seeking a Technical Writer to join for a 12-month fully remote contract! 

This is a regular, full-time, 40-hour/week position. While this is a remote position, you must reside in one of the following states: Washington, Oregon, California, Florida, Colorado, Michigan, Texas, or New York to be considered as an applicant.

As Technical Writer, You Will

• Stage and publish SOPs in a content management system based on drafts created by documentation specialists

• Transform SOPs into the required coded format (DITA XML, HTML), and perform copy editing prior to publication

• Work within a complex staging system that supports multiple marketplaces and languages

• Collaborate with content specialists to clarify, improve, and finalize SOPs before publishing

• Maintain the overall quality, accuracy, and usability of SOP content in the internal documentation repository

• Identify content issues and take action to resolve them by working with relevant stakeholders

• Innovate on processes and solutions to improve technical content development and delivery

• Demonstrate strong ownership and take initiative in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment

As an Applicant, You Bring

• 2–4 years of experience in a writing or lead writing role

• Proven ability to collaborate with developers and write for technical/internal audiences

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

• Passion for high-quality content and process improvement in technical environments

• Experience with XML-based publishing systems and tools such as Oxygen XML Author

• Familiarity with DITA XML, HTML, and structured authoring workflows

• Experience using tools such as Ajuda and Workfront

• Writing background (no specific degree or certification required)

Compensation

Pay Range: $30.00 - $40.50/hr
The successful candidate’s pay will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.
