Position Overview
Looking to build your experience in early childhood education while working in a fun, fast-paced mountain environment? Join our team at Mt. Hood Meadows Daycare as a Teacher Assistant and help create a safe, playful, and nurturing space for children during their time at the mountain.
As a Teacher Assistant, you’ll work closely under the guidance of lead teachers, helping to supervise children, support daily activities, and keep the daycare environment clean, organized, and joyful. Whether you’re reading stories, playing games, or simply offering a helping hand, your presence will make a real difference in each child’s day.
This is a fantastic seasonal opportunity for someone who’s passionate about working with kids, eager to learn, and ready to jump in with a positive, team-oriented attitude. No formal teaching experience required; just a genuine love for children, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to adapt to the unique rhythm of our mountain-based daycare.
This is a part- or full-time, seasonal position
Qualifications & Experience
• Must be at least 15 years of age
• Meet the initial (see OAR 414-305-0370) and company orientation (see OAR 414-305-0380) requirements and have attained the training required for the position attained.
• Passion for working with children
• Ability to effectively communicate children and co-workers (communication with parents is expected to be deferred to assigned teacher or supervisor)
• Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics and scheduling needs of a seasonal business.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
• Current Infant, Child CPR and First Aid certification and Food Handlers certification (preferred, not required)
• Willingness, ability, and equipment to assist in teaching skiing and/or snowboarding (preferred, not required)
• Bilingual with ability to speak and/or teach secondary language (preferred)
Compensation:
• Wage: $17.25 – 21.93 per hour
