Catapult is a unique internship for entry level professionals who hold a high school diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification interested in learning about customer service in a call center environment. This role is primarily focused on inbound call center tasks that deal with general customer service inquiries. The first phase of the program is a six-week internship where you’ll develop professional and personal skills alongside a community that empowers you to reach your full potential. After successful completion of the first phase and as part of the second phase, there will be an opportunity to kickstart your Capital One career in a full-time call center role where you'll be trained to support customer service inquiries. Both the internship and full-time role are remote/work from home positions.
Position Description:
As a Catapult Intern, you’ll receive skills, experiences, and support through professional training, financial education, and workplace mentoring to prepare you for a professional career at Capital One.
As part of the internship in phase one, you will:
Focus on competency based training including, but not limited to, communication, problem solving, judgment, customer service, financial well-being, and personal branding
Participate in group exercises
Engage with mentor regularly
Discuss your growth and identify opportunities for your development
Focus on personal and professional development
Work hours will be from Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Moving into the Full-Time role as part of phase two, you will be able to:
Resolve customer inquiries and issues while adhering to all Capital One policies and procedures
Demonstrate exceptional listening, questioning, call control, and de-escalation techniques
Communicate effectively with peers, management and customers
Exercise good judgment and independent decision-making skills
Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn, strong attention to detail, positive attitude and ability to be flexible and embrace change
Demonstrate a strong customer focus rooted in empathy
Be proactive, have effective time management and organizational skills
Display dependability with a solid attendance record
Work hours may vary depending on shift availability, including weekend and evening shifts
An ideal candidate would possess:
Basic experience in using a PC
Strong oral communication and reading comprehension
Open minded and a team player
Experience with problem solving and customer service
Ability to be present, participatory and maintain strong attendance
Compensation:
$21 per hour
Work from Home Technology Requirements:
Secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions
Reliable private internet connection that is not supplied via cellular data or hotspot is required
A private network that is password protected where you have ownership or line of site sight to every device on the network
Internet service must be provided by Cable or Fiber Internet Service Providers (ISP)
Hotspots and satellite services are prohibited and do not meet performance criteria required for optimal agent/customer interactions
ISP download speeds on VPN must be at least 5Mbps, with 10+ Mbps preferred
To validate ISP speeds from a Chrome browser, go to www.google.com, type Speed Test and run from the Google landing page
Both Hardwire and WiFi internet connections are acceptable as long as speed and security requirements are met
