Title: Automation Engineer – Enterprise Systems


Fully Remote

About the Role: The Automation Engineer will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative, automated solutions that support critical business processes across the organization. As a key member of the Enterprise Systems technology team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and Azure technologies. This role is ideal for a technically skilled, process-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about driving efficiency and innovation through automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automation Solution Design: Design and implement end-to-end automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and Azure technologies.
  • RPA Development: Develop and maintain Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions using Automation Anywhere.
  • Pipeline Management: Collaborate with the Automation Center of Excellence (CoE) and business leaders to identify and prioritize automation opportunities.
  • Requirements Translation: Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable Power Platform solutions.
  • System Integration: Integrate Power Platform solutions with SharePoint, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and other enterprise systems.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to automation best practices, governance standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert-level support for Power Platform solutions, resolving escalated technical issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers, Developers, and Business Analysts to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing solutions.
  • Testing Strategy: Contribute to testing strategies and support the development of test plans in collaboration with QA teams.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation including SOPs and runbooks to support operational continuity.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives and agile methodologies within the automation practice.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate knowledge sharing and community engagement through IOA’s Automation and Power Platform communities of practice.
  • Technology Awareness: Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in automation and cloud platforms.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience developing low-code/no-code solutions on Microsoft Power Platform in an Azure environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Power Apps, Power Automate, and Logic Apps with diverse data integrations
  • Hands-on experience with RPA tools such as Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Power Automate, or UIPath
  • Familiarity with programming/scripting languages such as C#, .NET, JavaScript, Python, or similar
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and web service integrations
  • Understanding of AI concepts including LLMs, Prompt Engineering, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and their integration with Power Platform
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a business-oriented mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a structured SDLC environment
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a team-first attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement
  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving business needs and technologies
