Leidos Dynetics seeking a talented Material Planning Analyst to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The Material Planning Analyst will also be performing normal planning duties such as interfacing with manufacturers and distributors for quotes, selecting the best supplier and submitting purchase requests. The candidate will be expected to track orders and expedite as necessary to meet program requirements. The type of material is expected to be electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical. This position will require frequent coordination with project managers, engineers, buyers, inventory managers, and suppliers to ensure that material will be available when needed and that proper documentation is in place for orders and proposals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Managing Manufacturing Orders.

  • Responsible for executing Configuration & Data Management processes & controls for managing and tracking configuration changes and ensuring company policies and procedures are implemented in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements.

  • Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple projects.

  • Resolve problems related to production jobs such as configuration changes, engineering changes, material issues, schedule priority, etc.

  • Monitor production status of jobs to ensure they meet schedule requirements & report job status to management using spreadsheets, custom reports, etc.

  • Monitor material requirements and coordinate with Purchasing.

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Inventory Control.

  • Expedite jobs as required & clearing any material Shortages.

  • Ensuring material certifications have been received and are available as needed.

  • Managing ISO9001/AS9100 processes within our department

  • Gathering quotes, historical data, and other backup to support proposal estimates and justification per Government requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4 or more years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in manufacturing or purchasing activities, including experience obtaining quotes and interacting with vendors.

  • Must be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. 

  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Planning experience with Electrical, Electromechanical and/or Mechanical components or manufacturing.

  • Deltek, Costpoint accounting software.

  • Agile configuration management software.

  • Interpreting and creating Bills of Materials.

  • Government contractor material purchasing requirements.

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience in project scheduling.

  • Understanding of a bill of material structure.

  • Experience in data or configuration management.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $49,400.00 - $89,300.00
