Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

Johnson & Johnson Orthopaedics TECA and Sports Supply Chain, a member of the MedTech sector, is recruiting for a Senior Engineer,  Project Engineeringto be located West Chester, PA.

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position is responsible to:

  • Lead the design and development of new processes or modifications to existing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.

  • Implement process improvements using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.

  • Lead and manage process engineering projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.

  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, manufacturing teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Identify process inefficiencies and work to solve complex operational issues through root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and innovative engineering solutions.

  • Provide technical support to production teams to resolve process-related issues and minimize downtime.

  • Ensure processes comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and develop safety protocols to mitigate potential risks.

  • Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and the development of corrective actions.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of process changes, technical reports, and operating procedures.

  • Provide regular reports on process performance, project progress, and improvements to management.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and leadership in process engineering.

  • Collaborate with vendors to specify, select, and procure equipment necessary for process improvements and expansions

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Project Management Certification or experience equivalent to 3 years

  • Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering / Science discipline or equivalent

  • Minimum 6 years Supply Chain or associated experience.

  • High-level MS Applications knowledge.

  • Project Management or Project Administration experience.

  • Experience of working in global matrix organizations.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, visual and written).
