Senior Technical Producer - Riot Data Products, Game Studios Data

As a Senior Technical Producer in Game Studios Data (on the Riot Data team), you will lead the initiative in creating sustainable and efficient development processes that let games turn data into player value. This includes work related to collecting raw telemetry, data warehousing and pipelines, game development tools, and player experiences. You will drive the initiative’s investments in effective repeatable processes for planning, designing, and delivering impactful technical products. You will coach and mentor teams on the initiative and the initiative leadership team on how to communicate the goals, scope, and status of our commitments to our teams and to our customers. You will also ensure the team works at a sustainable pace and continuously improves. You will report to the Principal Technical Product Manager for Game Studios Data.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a product vision for multi-game data products and capabilities
- Build product pitches for new data-oriented opportunities within Riot’s games and get buy-in from leadership
- Work with data pods across VALORANT, Project L, and R&D titles to break down complex projects, lock in quarterly commitments, and establish work systems that allow the team to maximize their ability to build products that support multiple Riot Games simultaneously
- Create product requirement documentation and/or high-level technical design documents that can be reviewed by game-level leadership for feedback; create prototypes & wireframes as needed
- Develop relationships with game producers, designers, QA and product managers to coordinate upcoming game features and expected data integrations and products required for those features
- Partner with Technical Product Management to establish an operational strategy for taking machine learning capabilities built within a single Riot Games title and generalizing it across games
- Standardize delivery practices for data products across VALORANT, Project L, and R&D titles including Objective & Key Result (OKR) progress tracking, incident management, On-Call, and release expectations
- Manage and champion the release schedule of data products for VALORANT, Project L, and unannounced R&D titles. Partner and collaborate with producer counterparts across game teams and R&D titles to understand the release schedule of each game
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience with strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a Producer, Product Manager, or Development Manager on medium to large-sized teams
- Direct experience as the producer or product manager for teams focused on the development and operation of data products and services - including gathering requirements, the design of production-ready architecture, and establishing how to sustainably support high availability services
Desired Qualifications:
- Direct experience managing teams that build, deploy, optimize, and maintain machine learning models
- Direct experience supporting the development of game features that integrate machine learning into game servers, game clients, and backend services
- Familiarity with common tools for machine learning (e.g. Mlflow, Tensorflow, PyTorch), reinforcement learning, (e.g., RLlib, Gym/Gymnasium), or transformer-based models for language.
- Experience managing products based on complex, event driven systems.
- Experience leading teams dealing with data processing (e.g., Spark, BigQuery, DataProc), storage (e.g., S3, Google Cloud Storage), transport (e.g., Kafka, PubSub), and orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Luigi)
- Experience in game development or a good understanding of how artists, engineers, and game designers build assets and game features for a modern game.
- Experience working with teams building software for internal users.
