Position Summary

This position reports to the Manager of Data Science and is responsible for leveraging data to develop impactful risk management strategies in the consumer lending sector. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create predictive models, generate actionable insights, and optimize decision-making processes. Furthermore, this role requires someone who quickly adapts to change and is willing to complete all duties as assigned and requested.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop statistical and machine learning models to optimize various stages of the customer lifecycle, including acquisition, underwriting, and retention.
  • Design experiments, including A/B tests, to improve model accuracy and business processes.
  • Automate data pipelines, reporting, and analysis to drive efficiency and provide actionable insights.
  • Develop processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large, diverse datasets to derive insights into consumer financial behavior.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to support strategic decision-making and business initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines (Advanced degree preferred).

Experience Required

  • Hands-on experience in building machine learning models using Python or R.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Proficiency in machine learning techniques and Python libraries like Pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, and SHAP.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Strong analytical abilities to combine data from multiple sources and interpret business performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
