Job Description:

Under direct supervision and through training, provides safe and effective care to patients of all ages who are undergoing surgical procedures. Responsibilities and training include: Assisting in case and operating room preparation, patient positioning, and assisting surgeon with procedures as required; demonstrating organizational skills to ensure instrumentation, equipment, and supplies, etc., are in place; maintaining availability for on-call rotation and emergency coverage; and maintaining current knowledge on surgical procedures and technology. May perform other designated technical care relative to specialty.

Experience:
Experience as a Surgical Assistant or two years experience as an Operating Room/Surgical Tech.

Education Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited program in Surgery Technology or Licensed Practical Nursing.

No certification/licensure required.
