Job Description
The Quality Engineer position is primarily responsible for managing concession creation, release, and tracking, IMDS management for AS/NA and document control for the QMS in FleP. Additional responsibilities include supporting Product Audits, Process Audits, Management of the eLPC systematic and new New Hire Orientation. Frequent interactions with Quality Management Methods (QMM) Technicians, Manufacturing Operations (MFO) Technicians, Manufacturing Engineers (MFE), Manufacturing Operations (MFO), Assembly Line Workers, Team Leads, and Managers on all shifts of production will be required. Interactions with Project Leads (PPL), Sales, and Design Engineers in Florence, Plymouth, and Queretaro will also be required. The QMM Engineer could support to provide daily direction and support to QMM Technicians. The QMM Engineer will functionally and disciplinarily report to the QMM Group Leader for additional tasks and escalation decisions.
Job Description
- Concessions
- Support concession tasks such as Risk Assessments, team reviews, and approvals as needed
- Systematic control for releasee closure
- Tracking
- IMDS
- Manage and track IMDS submissions for AS-NA
- Be the liaison to central team, rollout of changes and expectations to NA teams
- Document Control
- Support the management and systematic control for process documents within the QMS FleP
- Additional Responsibilities
- Product Audit Q-Tests
- Support the verification of OIS data as needed
- Process Audits
- Support Quality Management Systems (QMS) internal and external process audits, and 5S audits
- Presentation of Quality slides during New Hire Orientation according to the schedule provided by QMS
- eLPC Audits
- Owner of the systematic within the QMS that controls, updates, rollout and tracking for eLPC within FleP
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

- Advanced problem-solving experience (8D Method), knowledge of production value streams, PFMEA’s, and Control Plans is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Process Capability studies and gauge R & R’s in support of PPAP activities is highly desirable
- Knowledge of corporate regulations (BBM Process Compass, Central Quality Directives [CDQ], and Bill of Material [BOM]) requirements is desirable
- Basic knowledge of GD&T print reading, claims management, and change coordination for serial production parts is desirable
- Individual must have ability to make independent decisions that may be of a complex nature.
- Must have solid computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages. Must be capable of learning other software packages (SAP, WindChill, etc.)
- Technical math skills required
- High level of teamwork, detail oriented, self-motivated, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic and challenging manufacturing environment.
- Individual must possess the interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with co-workers, colleagues, and members of management
- The ability to work in an office environment, which could include sitting or standing for many hours. Responsibilities include the need to lift, carry, push, and pull material on a moderately frequent basis.
