Brief Description:
The Field Maintenance Technician 2 travels to drilling rig field locations to perform a variety of equipment service and maintenance activities. Activities include servicing, repairing, adjusting, inspecting and testing equipment, documenting equipment condition and maintenance activities. Additional duties include training and mentoring other technicians and rig crews on operational level maintenance, coordinating maintenance related projects on rigs, and providing appropriate feedback to the job site manager and maintenance management team.
Detailed Description:
Plan appropriately to drive extended distances to rig locations and perform maintenance duties
Demonstrate knowledge of various hydraulic circuits, and mechanical aptitude, and/or electrical and control systems
Supervise and coordinate rig projects in regards to maintenance actions
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical faults and plan coordination for the repair of the system(s)
Train operational crews in preventative maintenance checks and services, including how to properly conduct basic and intermediate repairs
Coordinate and complete maintenance related projects on the rig with the rig crew or 3rd party support
Conduct repairs identified during the technical level inspections
Demonstrate knowledge in performing and accurately documenting the findings of technical level inspections on the Top Drive, MudPump, Iron Roughneck, Catwalk, Engines and/or electrical/VFD inspections
Assist in development and conduct training for all rig components
Assist operations in designated Maintenance/Policy implementation
Assist in training technicians on technical maintenance procedures
Ability to read and understand schematics (electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic)
Demonstrate a basic knowledge and function of a process meter
Demonstrate a basic knowledge of remote login and troubleshooting of control system function and ground faults
Effectively wire circuitry and plugs ranging from 4 milliamps to 600 volts
Demonstrate basic knowledge in troubleshooting and repairs of 24-volt control circuits
Demonstrate basic knowledge in troubleshooting moxa switches, power supplies, relays, breakers, and other controls system components
Effectively utilize engine monitoring
