Section 508 Tester

Key Role:

Serves as the advocate for accessibility, a resource for colleagues who need to develop accessible products, and provides outreach and training for project managers, web designers, developers, and content providers. Applies basic principles, theories, and concepts, and limited industry knowledge. Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity and refers more complex issues to higher levels. Works under direct supervision.

Basic Qualifications:

• Knowledge of accessibility and 508 remediation of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents
• Knowledge of the 508 tagging process in Adobe PDF
• Knowledge of accessibility and 508 testing processes, such as DHS Trusted Tester, and with assistive technology, such as JAWS, NVDA, ZoomText, Dragon, or Keyboard testing
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 A and AA standards and 508 standards in Information Communications Technology (ICT)
• Knowledge of 508 compliances against government accessibility standards
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to follow a repeatable method of testing to produce audits
• Ability to clearly explain next steps for compliance to developers
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
