Our team of 700+ employees counts over 50 nationalities and is spread across our 6 global offices, 30% working fully remotely.<br/>Your Mission <br/>BlaBlaCar is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join a new team building a brand new product from scratch - Door to door. As the unique Android engineer within the team, you will play a key role in designing and implementing the product’s mobile infrastructure &amp; features. You will work closely with the engineering manager, product manager, product designer, and other engineers to ensure that the product meets hard business deadlines while enabling fast iteration and anticipating long-term scalability.<br/>Why should you apply for this role?<br/>Joining the door to door team is an opportunity to be a core contributor to the future of carpooling! Our goal is to build a new “door-to-door” product, replicating the convenience of owning a car without ownership. Passengers are facing transportation solutions that are either too expensive (taxi, car rentals) or too uncertain (regional buses). Let’s build something amazing together! <h3>Your responsibilities </h3> <ul> <li>Design, architect and develop features for the application</li><li>Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to help shape the features that land in production. This implies constant back and forth with product &amp; design stakeholders, in order to identify the most optimal approaches toward time to market of our features.</li><li>Be responsible for the quality of the application, and contribute to improving it</li><li>Improve the tooling and the CI/CD pipeline</li><li>Share your knowledge in the team: provide documentation on your work, enforce good practices and processes, communicate on changes</li><li>Work closely with the iOS and backend engineers to ensure alignment on the technical approach and architecture decisions</li><li>Maintain communication, transparency and alignment on good development practices with the BlaBlaCar Android chapter</li></ul> <h3>Your qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>At least 5 years of professional experience in Android engineering</li><li>Strong knowledge of service oriented architecture and architectural patterns</li><li>Strong agility &amp; business prioritization skills: you should have a trial and error mindset. We’ll have to try things, learn from them, and potentially discard some ideas on the road.</li><li>Hands-on experience with developer tools like Git, Firebase, Jenkins and monitoring solutions (Datadog)</li><li>You have excellent communication skills and enjoy sharing &amp; learning from others</li><li>You have the ability to prioritize and to find a good balance between fast iterations and quality of delivery</li><li>You are comfortable with the idea of being the unique Android engineer in the team, while embracing the challenge of not being an isolated engineer.
