As a Data Engineer at Crisp, you will play a key role in unlocking the potential of our customers’ data by designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and systems. Your responsibilities will include data integration, transformation, cleansing, and normalization to ensure high-quality, reliable datasets for analytics and decision-making. As part of the engineering team, you will not only enable clients to leverage our data platform but also contribute to the platform’s evolution by applying your expertise to drive innovations in its architecture, performance, and functionality.

Signs of a great candidate for a Data Engineer:

• Data oriented: You think about data in a rigorously structured manner. You live by the mantra “garbage in, garbage out” and are deeply experienced in the art of data cleansing.
• Focus on the business problem: You are passionate about building robust data pipelines and systems that enable actionable insights. To deliver the right data in the right format, you take the time to understand how the business works, ensuring your solutions align with stakeholder needs and drive meaningful outcomes.
• dbt: Strong proficiency in building and managing data transformations.
• Apache Airflow: Hands-on experience designing and managing workflows and pipelines.
• Python: Advanced knowledge of Python for data engineering tasks and automation.
• Web Scraping: Experience building and maintaining robust web scraping pipelines.
• SQL: Proficiency in SQL and SQL-based languages, with expertise in optimizing and performance tuning of SQL queries.

Nice to have:

• GCP: Experience with Google Cloud Platform services, such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Composer, Pub/Sub, etc.
• Kotlin or Other Object-Oriented Programming Languages: Familiarity with object-oriented principles and experience in languages like Kotlin, Java, or C#.
• Retail Data Experience: Knowledge of working with retail datasets, such as sales or inventory data.
• Proficient with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines, including experience in automating deployment workflows and managing version control systems.
