Job Summary:
The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a full time Senior Research Scientist (research faculty series, not eligible for tenure) to contribute to building an ophthalmic epidemiology and meta-research program for a minimal of 1 year. The program aims to lead research on developing, evaluating, and disseminating efficient methods for comparing healthcare interventions and providing trustworthy evidence for decision-making, with applications in eyes and vision. The candidate will help build research and teaching capacity in the Department of Ophthalmology. Relevant areas of research interest and expertise should include (1) study methodology: e.g., systematic review, meta-analysis, network meta-analysis, clinical trial, sources of bias, comparative effectiveness research, patient-centered outcomes research; and (2) data science, informatics, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing methods for health and healthcare data.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with and support the PI and other stakeholders.
Undertake and lead methodological research as well as applied research.
Disseminate the research in peer reviewed journals and other venues (e.g., presentation at conferences).
Network and collaborate with various experts and stakeholders.
Supervise and mentor student workers, graduate students, trainees, professional research assistants, or other personnel.
Work Location:
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
