Purpose

To perform highly skilled, technical support tasks in structural engineering operations and in machine and equipment design.

Responsibilities

  • Performing concrete research and testing. Work with equipment manufacturers' technical support to troubleshoot and repair lab equipment.

  • Fabrication of large-scale concrete, steel, and/or composite structural specimens, erection of heavy steel test frames, machining specialized components, configuring and connect hydraulic control and loading equipment,

  • Crane and forklift operation, deconstruction, and take down of research specimens and test equipment.

Required Qualifications

Technical or Vocational school or eight years of experience in a structural engineering laboratory. Must be proficient in ISO/ IEC 17025 testing, high capacity test set-ups, the use of precision measurement tools, MTS actuator, and universal test frame set-ups, closed and open loop hydraulic experience, and nuclear program management experience. Skilled in creating CAD designs.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than (eight) years of experience in maintenance, repairs, machining, welding, and using precision measurement tools.

Salary Range

$41,600 + depending on qualifications (annual salary is based upon 20 hours per week)
