What’s in it for you?
As a Maintenance Engineer within Volvo Car Charleston Paint shop, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of maintenance processes to ensure a quality-assured, cost effective, and high reliable paint production process.
Our mission is to manage the maintenance in the Paint shop to support running production and targets. Develop technology, methodology and competences to continually optimize the availability and the maintenance cost for new and existing production processes.
The challenge the coming years is to increase our existing production volume and introduce 2 new car models.
To secure this objective, you will play a critical role of the need of develop and optimize the Value Driven Maintenance conditions for a 2-shift Paint shop equipment.
What you will do…
- Create, follow up and optimize conditions for the equipment to perform at an agreed level or better with reflection on cost, SHE and availability according to Value Driven Maintenance.
- Secure the Preventive Maintenance optimize the equipment based on resource / availability and Corrective Maintenance by produce troubleshooting documents and repair documents.
- Support management with the prioritization and optimization of maintenance activities/resources including training.
- Follow up maintenance cost output and assist the maintenance manager with cost efficiency and budget control.
- Analyse, identify needed actions, and create action plan including cost calculations to optimize reability on paint process equipment.
- Be responsible for technical part of service agreements in procurement and performance evaluation of maintenance suppliers.
- Responsible for ensuring that the equipment structure is updated in the Maximo maintenance system, prepare, set up and scrap spare parts from the storage and that there is a replacement investment plan for the Paint shop.
- Ensure maintenance interests are safeguarded in projects where your contribution will be to focus on the reability and maintainability, for example, spare parts, preventive maintenance, documentation, and maintenance training.
Other duties included in the role:
- Work closely with Plant Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance engineers in the local VCCH team and the end-users in the Paint shop.
- Develop strategies and processes within maintenance locally and together with global competence network.
- Collaborate closely with other functions within the area and supports when expertise competence is needed.
- Share knowledge and experience, and offer trainings accordingly, to improve capability and competence of end-user and other support units within the site.
- Demonstrate personal leadership in support of company business objectives and role model the Volvo Cars Culture.
Do you fit the profile?
- Bachelors’ Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with equipment installation projects (systems design and integration).
- Extensive experience of paint production process equipment
- Extensive experience of maintenance processes and good knowledge of the Value Driven Maintenance process.
- Project management and leadership skills
- Knowledge of paint material and/or sealing material and application processes.
- Good communication, collaboration and negotiation skills with internal, external customers and stakeholders.
