The Manager Assistant (MA) in GCS Finance plays a pivotal role in supporting the leadership team and their organization by contributing to a diverse range of activities, including colleague engagement, communications, and project management. The MA will be an integral part of the Executive Office, reporting directly to the Director Assistant (DA). This individual will work on various initiatives to ensure the smooth operation of the office. The role is ideal for a quick learner and self-starter with a proven track record of excellence in operating independently and within a high-performing team environment.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Director Assistant (DA) and the GCS Finance Leadership team.
  • Support business planning and operational processes led by the Executive Office, including leadership team meetings, PMP, hiring management, and rewards & recognition programs.
  • Provide project management support to the DA for Project Guardian, ensuring timely updates to stakeholders on Finance-owned milestones and tasks.
  • Collaborate with the DA to implement the colleague engagement strategy and act as a cultural liaison among all colleagues.
  • Oversee the team budget and offer Opex guidance to the leadership team.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for team information requests and updates.
  • Manage internal organizational communications through a wide range of channels including memos, announcements, and Town Halls.
  • Build strong working relationships across the team, as well as with key stakeholders across the organization to maximize collaboration, problem solving and generate solutions to deliver results.
  • Lead additional ad-hoc projects as required
  • Enjoy driving a diverse range of initiatives and will balance multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Excel at building relationships and can use emotional intelligence to analyze and improve team dynamics.
  • Strive to embed themselves in all areas of the GCS Finance team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
  • 3+ years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent relationship and influencing skills for dealing with a wide range of issues and people at different levels; proven ability to navigate effectively and efficiently within American Express.
