The Green Health and Wellness Center Emergency Department offers 24-hour medical attention from board-certified, emergency medicine physicians. Backed by the full resources of Cleveland Clinic Akron General and Cleveland Clinic, this team ensures the continuity of care for the community of Green. As a Clinical Technician, you will support your fellow caregivers and medical staff by providing patients with top-quality care in the Emergency Department. Under the supervision of an RN, you will utilize your technical and applicable skills to enhance the patient experience and create a welcoming, healing environment. Helping patients with seemingly simple tasks like self-care can make a meaningful difference in their lives, offering a unique opportunity to truly take pride in your work. You will also provide clerical support in this role, acting as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC). A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and inserting urinary Foley Catheters.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma/GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire period
Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required upon hire
One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student with a
