Job Description - Summer 2025 Intern

 

The summer intern will become acquainted with intervention and evaluation protocols, as well as data files, for the Durham-based Randomized Controlled Trial of Community Navigation headed by Professor Kenneth Dodge. The intern will also learn about major computer programs for data storage, management, and analysis (e.g., Excel, SPSS, SAS). The intern will become familiar with recent reports and findings from RCT. Specific tasks and responsibilities for the intern will include:

  1. Completing all trainings and certifications required for individuals working on DUHS IRB-approved research studies
  2. Review and become familiar with Community Navigation intervention and evaluation protocols, including intervention scripts and evaluation surveys
  3. Review prior reports summarizing Community Navigation RCT progress and results to date
  4. Attend Community Navigation weekly case conferences
  5. Attend in-home child assessments with study research assistants, providing interview support as needed
  6. Contribute to the development of data reports and reconciliation of data errors
  7. Conduct descriptive data analyses and contribute to the development of study technical reports
  8. Review Navigation interviews to code for fidelity and reliability
