About the role

As Senior Policy and Legal Officer – Boards and Committees, you will provide high-level policy advice and recommendations and legal support for matters relating to the governance of statutory boards and committees administered by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania.

  • Undertake legal and policy research and provide specialist advice related to the administration of enabling legislation, appointments, and the roles and functions of boards, committees and statutory bodies.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including board secretariats, the Executive, Department Leadership Group and other government entities to support consistent and compliant administration of board and committee appointments.

This is a fixed term position.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Period of appointment

12 months. 

Desirable requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in law, public policy, governance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
