Job Description

We’re looking for Software Engineer, Construction Data to join Procore’s Product & Technology Team. This position is part of the Procore Copilot team. In this role, you’ll own the data set, annotations, and calculation of evaluation metrics for the Procore Copilot pipeline. The primary goal of this role is to become a subject matter expert in the construction industry to help create the data set to train and evaluate subsystems in the Procore Copilot product.

As a Software Engineer, Construction Data, you’ll partner with product, engineering, and design teams to understand the desired response from customer queries to Procore Copilot, and use that data to test Procore Copilot. Use your foundational knowledge of software development, proficiency in programming languages, and rapid learning skills to contribute to meaningful work and advance team goals.

This position reports to the Copilot Engineering Manager and will be based in our Austin, TX office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and maintain the data set, annotations, and metrics for the Procore Copilot pipeline.

• Independently complete well-scoped tickets in familiar areas and assist with routine team-level tasks.

• Investigate new areas, seek guidance and assistance as necessary, and recognize when to escalate issues.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to understand customer query responses and apply this data to test Procore Copilot.

• Write and modify code in Python to modify and run evaluation scripts.

• Embrace learning opportunities and proactively seek feedback to improve skills.

• Contribute to the overall productivity and goals of the team by assisting other team members when needed.

• Utilize foundational computer science principles to solve problems and optimize processes.

• Engage with the team positively, assuming good intent, and contributing to a constructive work environment.

What we’re looking for:

• 0+ years of experience in software development, which may include internships or related professional experience.

• Proficiency in at least one programming language and foundational knowledge of software development processes.

• Familiarity with application development tools and the ability to rapidly learn new technologies (e.g., source control management, unit testing frameworks).

• Working knowledge of relevant computer science fundamentals, such as algorithmic complexity.

• Eagerness to learn and develop new skills, with a positive attitude toward feedback and continuous improvement.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Commitment to supporting team goals and contributing to a positive team culture.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range $96,000 - $132,000. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
