Field Service Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities and responsibilities for the field service team to minimize customer downtime and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Provide long term service department planning for resources, capital investment, training, and other forward looking department items. The planning activities shall balance the overall needs of the business and available budget.
  • Actively track and manage service claim time and cost with routine reporting of KPIs and service team revenue.
  • Support customer integration and commissioning of XALT systems during product development and aftersales operations; ensure customers’ adherence to XALT product guidelines and serve as the XALT commissioning authority for new applications.
  • Oversee root cause investigations using XALT’s 8D tools and methods. Efficiently seek technical expertise from other cross functional teams within XALT when necessary & consult with electrical, software, systems, and mechanical teams when intensive diagnostic work is required.
  • Define and disseminate customer preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Provide an active role in the development product documentation as well as helping to define service tools and equipment.
  • Provide an active role in establishing regional service support teams in areas such as central Europe, Asia, and South America.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medium and heavy duty truck markets and their propulsion systems (hybrid technology preferred).
  • Working knowledge of battery system technology and its interaction within the host application.
  • Experience with high-voltage systems and Li- ion batteries is a bonus.
  • Literacy in Windows, MS Office, and CAN( Vector) tools is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on skills to support troubleshooting of product electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
  • 8+ years of experience related to field and/or customer service.
  • 6+ year minimum experience working with customers in a field service and/or new product launch environment; educating customers on new product features and resolving issues
  • Comfortable working at remote customer facilities as well as in a lab or machine shop environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and working with remote teams and/or personnel.
