Hardware Store Associate

Job Summary:

The Ace Store Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with daily operational tasks, including cashier duties. This role is critical in ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience and that the store operates efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.

• Provide product information and guidance to customers regarding store products, promotions, and services.

• Help customers locate products and provide solutions to their needs.

• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

• Assist in the training and mentoring of new staff, especially with customer service best practices.

Cashier Duties:

• Operate the cash register and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with accuracy.

• Scan items, process payments, and issue receipts or refunds as needed.

• Ensure all transactions are completed in compliance with store policies and procedures.

• Balance cash drawer at the start and end of shifts to ensure accuracy.

• Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and work area.

• Monitor and report any discrepancies or issues with register functions or customer transactions.

Store Maintenance:

• Ensure shelves, displays, and sales floors are clean, organized, and well-stocked.

• Replenish merchandise on shelves as needed and assist with inventory management.

• Assist with store signage, pricing, and promotional displays.

• Maintain a safe environment for customers and team members, adhering to safety protocols.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.

• Capable of lifting and moving merchandise, up to 30 lbs.

• Comfortably navigate a retail environment and handle physical tasks, such as stocking shelves and cleaning.
